FRANKLIN- Albert J. Bresciani, 93, of Franklin, formerly of Hopedale and Harwich, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the UMass/Memorial Healthcare-University Hospital, Worcester. He was the husband of Mary M. (McGrath) Bresciani.

Born in Hopedale, he was the son of the late Paul and Louise (Vannoni) Bresciani and was a graduate of Hopedale Junior and Senior High School. He also attended Wentworth Institute of Technology and Hill College in Rhode Island.

During WW II he served with the U.S. Navy, serving on the Destroyer USS H.L Edwards, attaining the rank of Machinist Mate Second Class and was involved with the Leyte Gulf Battle in the Pacific.

Mr. Bresciani was employed for 20 years at the former Draper Corporation and then for Koch Process Systems in Westborough for 11 years prior to his retirement.

He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Franklin, was a former member of the American Legion, the VFW, the Bright Oak Club and Sacred Heart Church Men’s Club.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three children, LuAnn Tosches and her husband, Paul, of Hopedale, James Bresciani and his wife, Julie, of Feeding Hills, MA and Thomas Bresciani and his wife, Cindy, of Hopedale; one brother, Carl Bresciani and his wife, Beverly, of Franklin; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was the great-grandfather of the late Ryan Christopher Tosches and William Paul Tosches and brother of the late Louis Bresciani, Alfred Bresciani, Paul Bresciani and Lena Bresciani.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 10, at 8:45 A.M. from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress St., Milford, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Church Square, Franklin, at 10:00 A.M. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery, Hopedale.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday, January 9, from 5 to 8 P.M.
