Mr. Donald E. “Moe” Mobilia, 78, of Milford MA, died Monday (June 15, 2015) at Milford Regional Medical Center after an illness. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn K. (Linebaugh) Mobilia.
Mr. Mobilia was born in Waltham MA, the son of the late John and the late Eva (Gentile) Mobilia. He was a graduate of S. Mary’s High School in Waltham MA, Class of 1955. Following high school he served a tour of duty in the US Air Force.
Mr. Mobilia had been employed at Stop & Shop for 35 years, working at numerous store locations as a regional assistant grocery manager and retiring in 1987. He was a resident of Milford for most of his life, and had been a resident of Lake Havasu City AZ for about 14 years, returning to Milford in 2007.
Mr. Mobilia had dedicated most of his life to the youth of Milford by serving as a volunteer in various sports organizations, especially the Milford Junior Baseball League and the Pop Warner Football League. He was the recipient of an award from the Milford Junior Baseball League for his outstanding contributions to the program as a coach, director & official. He was also the recipient of The Humanitarian Award from the Town of Milford.
Along with his beloved wife of 57 years, he is survived by his 4 Children: Karen A., wife of Joe Morais of Portugal, Michael P. Mobilia and his wife Maria of Milford MA, Thomas E. Mobilia and his wife Linda of Milford MA and Stephen D. Mobilia and his wife Claudia of Milford MA; 5 Grandchildren: Hannah Mobilia, Nicholas Mobilia, Tony Mobilia, Kaitlyn Mobilia and Gabby Mobilia; 2 Brothers: John “Jack” Mobilia and his wife Dolores of California and Dennis Mobilia of Maryland; 2 Sisters: Barbara Sullivan of Newton MA and Beverly Mobilia of Holliston MA; also many nieces & nephews.
In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass onFriday (June 19th) at 11AM in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Private committal services of his cremains will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA at the convenience of the family. There are no funeral home visiting hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA.
