Mrs. Jean M. (Blessington) Place, 87, of Milford MA and RI, died early Friday morning (October 14, 2016) at Maples Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Wrentham MA after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter S. Place.
Mrs. Place was born in Pascoag RI, the daughter of the late Thomas Blessington and the late Etta Mae (Mowry) Blessington Jacobs. She attended public schools in Pascoag RI as a young girl and was a graduate of Pascoag High School.
As a young woman she resided in Tennessee with her late husband. She then resided in California for most of her life where she was employed as a secretary for the State of California. Upon her retirement, she moved to Kingman AR where she resided with her late husband. She had been a resident of the Milford and RI area since 2003.
The family would like to thank the staff at Maples Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful and loving care afforded Jean during these last few years.
She is survived by her cousins: Richard P. Rae of Milford MA, Julie Egan of NY, Richard Blessington of VA and John Blessington of CT.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Tuesday (October 25th) at 10am in the Lower Chapel of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Pascoag Cemetery in Harrisville RI. There are no visiting hours.
