Mrs. Maureen F. (Zicolella) Schaier, 73, of Milford MA, died Monday (October 17, 2016) at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul N. Schaier, who died in 2015.
Mrs. Schaier was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late Salvatore F. and the late Leah C. (Gobbi) Zicolella. She attended Milford public schools, graduating from Milford High School, Class of 1961. She also attended Chandler Business School.
Mrs. Schaier had first been employed as a young woman at the former Milford Savings Bank. She later worked as a receptionist at the law offices of Rosen, Noferi, Noferi & Wittorff in Milford MA.
Mrs. Schaier was a lifelong resident of Milford and loved spending time with her family in Plymouth MA during the summertime. She had volunteered as a den mother and cub scout leader as a young mother and later as a CCD teacher at Sacred Heart of Jesus parish in Milford.
She is survived by 1 Son: David N. Schaier and his longtime companion Deidre Cahill of Milford MA; 2 Grandchildren: Isabella Leah Schaier and Nicholas James Schaier of Milford MA; (1) Step-Son: Paul J. Schaier of Coventry RI; also several cousins in Massachusetts, Long Island NY, New Jersey and Florida, and their children.
Her funeral will be held Saturday (October 22nd ) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (UPPER CHURCH), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. A visiting hour will be held Saturday morning (October 22nd) from 8:30am to 9:30am, prior to her Funeral Mass.
