Patricia M. (Allen) Freeman Renaghan

January 28, 1938 ~ December 8, 2016 (age 78) 78 Years Old


Mrs. Patricia M. (Allen) Freeman Renaghan, 78, of Milford MA, died Thursday (December 8, 2016) at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham MA after an illness. She was the beloved wife of Robert B. Renaghan.

 

Mrs. Renaghan was born in Lewiston ME, the daughter of the late W. Henry Allen and the late Winifred (Jordan) Allen Hamilton. She was a graduate of Gould Academy, Class of 1955. She then attended Bates College and Boston University. She attained her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Framingham State College, graduating summa cum laude.

 

Mrs. Renaghan was first employed as a young woman as a waitress in Harrison ME. She later was employed as an elementary school teacher in Holliston MA for about 25 years. After that, she had been employed as a real estate broker for Century 21 AAA First Realty.

 

Mrs. Renaghan had been a resident of Milford for the past 28 years. Prior to that she had resided in Holliston MA, Billerica MA and Hebron ME.

 

Mrs. Renaghan was a longtime communicant of St. Mary ‘s Church in Milford. She was a longtime member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association; the Massachusetts Retired Teachers Association; a member of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board; a member of the Massachusetts Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. She was also the founder of her neighborhood social club, The Club at Laurelwood and was the founder of the “KTB Club”.

 

Mrs. Renaghan loved music and was an accomplished singer, including opera. She had been offered a scholarship as a young girl to the Julliard School of Music and also had a starring role in the play “Oklahoma” while attending Bates College.

 

Along with her beloved husband of 22 years, she is survived by her children: Kristin Alpert and her husband Joel of Holliston MA, Kim Powers and her husband Richard of Port Charlotte FL, Jim Freeman and his wife Michelle of Brevard NC, Peter Freeman and his wife Habi of Nashua NH, Jill Kirk and her husband John of Millbury MA, Caroline Engvall and her husband Carl of Bristol VT, Rob Renaghan and his wife Darcy of Medway MA, Lisa Renaghan of Franklin MA and Glenn Renaghan and his wife Julie of Shrewsbury MA; also her “adopted son”: Andy Goodwin of Natick MA; 15 Grandchildren: Dave Alpert and his wife Jen, Lindsay Alpert, Connor Freeman,, Sabra Freeman, Nancy Freeman, Jillian Freeman, Jack Kirk, Liam Kirk, Lauren Kirk, Noah Engvall, Helen Engvall, Jordyn Renaghan, Julia Renaghan, Sean Renaghan and Sloane Renaghan; her Siblings: Bob Allen and his wife Hope of Naples FL, Sandra  Vasquez and her husband Evaristo of San Antonio TX, Louise Hackett and her husband Dave of Merrimack NH, Brian Allen and his wife Joanne of Turner ME, Bonnie Rotenberg and her husband Jon of Chestnut Hill MA, Ray Hamilton and his wife Claire of Livermore ME, Debbie Alden and her husband Kevin  of Leeds ME; also many nieces & nephews.

 

Mrs. Renaghan was the wife of the late James Freeman and the mother of the late Brian Freeman.

 

Her funeral will be held Monday (December 12th) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. In accordance with her wishes cremation will follow. Visiting hours will be held Sunday (December 11th) from 2pm to 5pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.

 

Memorial donations may be made to The Lewy Body Dementia Association   or    the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Parkinson’s Disease Association.
