Phyllis L. (Lapan) Fertitta

Mrs. Phyllis L. (Lapan) Fertitta, 90, of Milford MA died Thursday morning (March 2, 2017) at Beaumont Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation in Northbridge MA after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Charles J. Fertitta.

Mrs. Fertitta was born in Upton MA, the daughter of the late Harry F. and the late Nettie E. (Burnham) Lapan. She attended Upton public schools as a young girl. She had been employed as a seamstress at the former Cushing Hospital in Framingham MA. She later worked at the Milford Food Pantry for five years.

Mrs. Fertitta had been a resident of Milford for most of her life and had been a member of the Owlette Club of Milford. As a young mother she had volunteered as a girl scout leader. Phyllis loved to travel extensively with the Milford Travel Club, and with various family members to such locations as Spain and Hawaii.

The family of Mrs. Fertitta would like to thank Jessica Krzciuk for the wonderful care & friendship that she afforded Phyllis over these past years as her longtime caregiver, but more importantly her sincere friend.

Mrs. Fertitta is survived by her 2 Daughters: Ann Marie, wife of Eric Shearer of Uxbridge MA and Nancy Fertitta of Milford MA; 3 Grandchildren: Clifford Fitzmaurice Jr. of Milford MA, Michael Fitzmaurice and his companion Emily Kyrargyros of Uxbridge MA and Rebecca Giampietro and her companion Kevin Whitten of Douglas MA; also her siblings: Mrs. Lucille Whitney of Whitinsville MA, Arthur Lapan of Northbridge MA and William Lapan of Douglas MA.

Mrs. Fertitta was the sister of the late Geraldine Edwards, the late Lloyd Lapan, the late Roland Lapan, the late Donald Lapan and the late Walter Lapan.

Private Funeral Services will be held at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA with burial to follow in Lake View Cemetery in Upton MA. There are no visiting hours.
