Mr. Richard F. Pearl Jr., 63, of Franklin MA, died Monday (March 19, 2018) at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston MA after an intense six month battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Michele H. Pearl.
Mr. Pearl was born in Milford MA, the son of the late Richard F. Pearl Sr. and the son of Rose M. (Arcudi) Pearl. He was a graduate of the former St. Mary’s Central Catholic High School, Class of 1972.
Mr. Pearl was first employed as a young man at the former General Motors assembly plant in Framingham MA. Following that he began his career in retail management working at Steve’s Ice Cream located in Providence RI, followed by various other retailers. He later owned & operated Mad Science of Central Massachusetts and most recently had been employed at the Columbia Sports clothing store located in the Wrentham Outlet Mall.
Mr. Pearl was an avid golfer and participant in the golf league at the Bungay Brook golf course in Bellingham MA. He was also an avid fisherman and loved to read Robert Parker books. But most of all, loved spending time with and taking care of his family.
Along with his beloved wife of 27 years, he is survived by 2 sons: Ethan R. Pearl of Bozeman MT and Oliver M. Pearl of Franklin MA; his mother: Rose M. (Arcudi) Pearl of Milford MA; his 3 siblings: Rosanne, wife of Bernard Hickey Jr. of Milford MA, Patricia, wife of Francis Zelesky of Southbridge MA and Robert S. Pearl and his wife Dot of Medway MA; several nieces & nephews; his mother-in-law: Anastasia M. Dwight of Scituate MA and sister-in-law: Tamela, wife of Jon Swan of Dalton NH.
His funeral will be held Saturday (March 24th) at 8am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA.
