Mr. Richard A. Simmons Jr., 53, of Woonsocket RI and formerly of Milford MA, died unexpectedly Monday morning (June 5, 2017) at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket RI shortly after admittance.
Mr. Simmons was born in Milford MA, the son of Richard A. Simmons and Linda (Bianchi) Beauchesne. He attended Milford public schools as a young boy and Milford High School.
Mr. Simmons was first employed at Grandma’s Attic moving company for over ten years. While residing in Missouri he was employed as a heavy equipment operator. After returning to Massachusetts he was employed as a painting contractor at Frend Painting Company.
Mr. Simmons was an avid fisherman and was an avid animal lover. He also loved to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Mr. Simmons is survived by 1 Daughter: Kari Ann Simmons-Beckim of Bailey NC; 1 Grandson: Travis Beckim of Bailey NC; his mother: Linda, wife of Francis Beauchesne of Fountain Inn SC; his father: Richard A. Simmons of Milford MA; his 4 Siblings: Rhonda Horton of Milford MA, Robert Simmons of Apache Junction AZ, Roxanne, wife of Steven Reynolds of Easley SC and Randy Simmons of Fountain Inn SC; several aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews; his companion: Laurie Cunha of Woonsocket RI and her daughter Alexis Cunha; also his beloved dog “Max”.
Mr. Simmons was the brother of the late Raymond Simmons, who died in 1987.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday (June 10th) at 11am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA. A visiting hour will be held Saturday (June 10th) from 10am to 11am, prior to his funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to offset funeral expenses be sent to the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA 01757.
