Richard Wilfred Williams

Mr. Richard W. Williams, 76, of Medway MA, died Sunday (September 10, 2017) at Countryside Healthcare of Milford. He was the beloved husband of Margaret M. (Bradley) Williams.

Mr. Williams was born in Rockville CT, the son of the late Alonzo and the late Elizabeth (Bassett) Williams. He attended public schools in Millis MA, and was a US Army veteran having served as a Military Policeman.

In his younger years Mr. Williams worked at the former Cliquot Club in Millis MA, General Motors and Morash Moving Company in Framingham MA.  He later owned & operated H. J. O’Brien  and Superior Sandblasting Company in Medway MA.  He was also the owner of Williams Classic Restorations Company and showed many of his antique cars throughout New England, as well as Hershey PA, where he won many awards and trophies.

Many of his interests included traveling abroad with his wife and family, Irish music and dance. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and boating at the Cape and spending time at his summer residence in Hyannis.

Along with his beloved wife Peg, he is survived by his Daughter, Lori A., wife of Scott Palmer of Grafton MA and Grandchildren, Alicia and Bradley Palmer as well as his Daughter, Shayna Reed of Missouri and several nieces & nephews.

Mr. Williams was the brother of the late Thomas Williams, the late “Sonny” Williams, the late Elizabeth Malo and the late Blanche Fontneau. He was also the father of the late Anita Reed.

His funeral, with Military Honors, will be held Saturday (September 16th) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday (September 15th) from 5pm to 8pm.
