Robert Leo McGee

Mr. Robert (Bob) Leo McGee, 77, died Thursday (March 8, 2018) in Bradenton FL.

Mr. McGee was born in Milford MA, the son of the late Joseph R. and the late Mary H. (McCarthy) McGee. “Sam”, as he was affectionately known in Milford, graduated from the former St. Mary’s High School in Milford and received his BA degree from St. Michael’s College in Colchester VT. He taught for over twenty years in the Milford public school system.

“Sam” McGee was an avid reader, lecturer, and advocate of the less fortunate. He was a retired educator who also taught in Rochester NY, England, Hawaii, Switzerland, Italy and Australia. He was a world traveler and operated Me and Bob McGee World Tours. He loved travel, sports, running, tennis and debating political issues. “Sam” completed the Boston Marathon four times.

He is survived by his son: Ryan L. J. McGee of Venice CA; his brothers: William McGee of Westborough MA and Dennis McGee of Myrtle Beach SC; his sisters: Anne Moison of Milford MA and Rita McGee of Milford MA; and longtime friend and companion: Lois Anne McGee of Bradenton FL. He was the brother of the late Hilda (McGee) Flaherty, who died in 2000.

His funeral will be held Wednesday (March 21st) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a committal service at 10am in St. Mary's Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday evening (March 20th) from 6pm to 8pm.
