Mr. Robert J. “Bob” Nargi, 82, son of Pasquale Nargi and Patricia (Murphy) Nargi, died Wednesday night (July 15, 2015) at Countryside Healthcare of Milford after a long and happy life.
Bob was a lifelong resident of Milford. He leaves no regrets, but does leave his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara (Gilmore) Nargi. Bob was educated in the Milford public schools and graduated magna cum laude from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. Bob co-owned Davoren’s Pharmacy of Milford for thirty years
Bob was a Korean Conflict US Army veteran. He was active in several organizations, such as the Elks and the Milford Junior Chamber of Commerce, the Massachusetts Pharmaceutical Association, and the National Association of Retail Druggists.
For many years Bob was a member of the Hopedale Country Club as he was an avid golfer. He was a retired Director at the Milford Federal Savings & Loan Association. He also loved walking the Milford trail and was a proud member of the Friends of the Milford Upper Charles Trail.
In addition to his wife, he also leaves his 4 loving daughters: Cheryl Cormier and her husband Gilles of Hopedale MA, Debbie Nargi-Brown and her husband Bill of Ben Lomond CA, Linda Johnson and her husband Richard of Milford MA and Lisa Walker and her husband Bill of Attleboro MA; He also leaves 6 Grandchildren: Melissa Carboni, Steven and Katelyn Johnson, Nicholas Brown, and Jack and Adam Walker. Also 1 Brother: Pasquale “Pat” Nargi and his wife Connie of Bellingham MA; everal nieces & nephews; and his Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law: Robert and Mildred Gilmore.
Robert was pre-deceased by a granddaughter, Jill Carboni, who he loved very much.
Bob, before he passed, asked to be remembered as one who tried to help those he met either in the pharmacy or elsewhere in many different ways with humor or just to lend an ear. Simply said, Bob loved people and especially his family.
His funeral, with Military Honors, will be held Tuesday (July 21st) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (Upper Church), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be Monday (July 20th) from 5pm to 8pm.
