Tora (Dysjeland) McDonald

Mrs. Tora (Dysjeland) Chapman McDonald, 87, of Hopkinton MA died Thursday (September 3, 2015) at the Franklin Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Chapman, who died in 1965, and the beloved wife of the late Dewey W. McDonld, who died in 2012.

Mrs. McDonald was born in Sola, Norway the daughter of the late Vinsens and the late Ella (Byberg) Dysjeland. She attended school in Norway as a young girl during the Nazi occupation of Norway during WWII. She also attended night classes while residing in the United States.

Mrs. McDonald had resided in California and Georgia, prior to moving to Massachusetts in 2014. She had been employed for many years as a bookkeeper for various companies, including the Huffy Bicycle Company.

Mrs. McDonald was an avid figure skating enthusiast and also loved to cook, knit & crochet.

Mrs. McDonald is survived by 1 Daughter: Jeanne C., wife of George Reimonn of Hopkinton MA;   3 Grandsons: Thomas Reimonn, Patrick Reimonn and Gregory Reimonn of Hopkinton MA;        2 Sisters: Maria Skogen and Elsa Pedersen of Norway; also several nieces & nephews.

In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place and a private graveside committal service will be held at the convenience of the family. Relatives & friends are invited to extend their condolences to her family on Sunday, October 4th, from 3pm to 5pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA.
