Mrs. Veronica Z. “Vera” (Barcsansky) Charron, 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday (March 25, 2018). She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas A. Charron.
Vera was born in New Haven CT to the late Stephan and late Martha (Kubicza) Barcsansky. She was the mother of Ronald Rice, the late Cindy Riley and the late Tracy Charron.
Growing up in Southern Connecticut, Vera was a talented jazz dancer. She lived with her family in Hamden CT, until moving to Milford in 2004.
Vera worked during her adult life. When WW II broke out, she assembled carbine rifles for Winchester Repeating Arms Company. Vera ultimately retired from Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford CT after working as an executive secretary for many years.
Vera enjoyed many happy summers with Tom at their cabin on Mooselookmeguntic Lake in Oquossoc ME throughout her retirement. She was a loving, devout, and resilient woman who will forever be missed by her family and friends.
In addition to Ronald and his wife Effie of Meriden CT, Vera is survived by four grandchildren: Thomas Rice and his wife Christine of Wallingford CT, Adrienne Palinko and her husband Tom of Wallingford CT, Sean Riley and his wife Julianne of Weymouth MA and Tracy Clemente and her husband Matthew of Milford MA; three great grandchildren: Jacob Rice, Dominic and Jonathan Clemente; also nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
The family would like acknowledge the wonderful care that Vera received over these past years at Whitcomb House of Milford, the Highlands of Westborough, Genesis of Milford, Milford Regional Medical Center and from all the other dedicated caregivers.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday (March 28th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. In accordance with her wishes cremation will follow and private committal services will be held in St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven CT. A visiting hour will be held Wednesday morning from 8:30am to 9:30am, prior to her Funeral Mass.
