Mr. Angelo J. Tosches, 89, of Milford MA, died Saturday evening (July 21, 2012) at Beaumont Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Northbridge MA after a period of declining health. He was the husband of Kathleen (Bird) Tosches.
Mr. Tosches was born in Milford, the son of the late Nicola and the late Benadittina (Annacci) Tosches. He attended Milford public schools and was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1941. He attended Oswego College in New York while performing US Air Force training. Following the war, he was a graduate of Worcester Trade School, Class of 1948, where he was a pattern maker.
Mr. Tosches played American Legion baseball as a catcher and was an avid New York Yankees baseball fan. He was a lifelong resident of Milford and a longtime member of the Italian-American Veterans Post of Milford. He was a WW II US Air Force veteran who attained the rank of sergeant.
Mr. Tosches was first employed at the former Draper Corporation in Hopedale MA from 1950 to 1975. He then was employed at the former Walleston Alloys company located in Braintree MA from 1976 to 1980. He was last employed at the former Pneumatic Scale company from 1980 to 1995, retiring at the age of seventy-two.
Mr. Tosches is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years; also his 5 Children: Michael Tosches of Framingham MA and his children Christopher, Matthew and Jessica Tosches; Mark Tosches and his wife Linda of Milford MA and their son Eric Tosches; MaryBeth wife of Edward Clancy of Framingham MA and their children John and Julie Clancy; Monica Jeanne Tosches of Malden MA and Matthew Tosches and his wife Lizette of Grafton MA and their children Jenna, Cameron and Shayla Tosches; 2 Sisters: Anna DelSignore of Milford MA and Lenora Perron of TX; also several nieces & nephews.
Mr. Tosches was the brother of the late Joseph Tosches, the late Rita Stets, the late Carmella McGlynn and the late Rose Caprini. He was also the grandfather of the late Adam Tosches.
His funeral will be held Friday (July 27th) at 10am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (Upper Church), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. In accordance with his wishes cremation will follow and private committal services will be held at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours will be held Thursday (July 26th) from 5pm to 8pm .
