Mr. Angelo L. “Mitzy” Mazzuchelli Jr., 86, of Milford MA died Thursday (July 19, 2012) unexpectedly at the Milford Regional Medical Center while undergoing surgery. He was the husband of Anne A. (DelRicco) Mazzuchelli, to whom he was married to for over sixty years.
Mr. Mazzuchelli was born in Milford, the son of the late Angelo L. and the late Maria (Paccioretti) Mazzuchelli. He attended Milford public schools and was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1943, where he served as class treasurer.
Upon graduation from high school, he entered the US Army and served in the 82nd Airborne Paratrooper Division. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he entered Burdett College in Boston MA where he earned a degree in Accounting and Business Administration. He was employed by John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company for thirty-five years in management and during that time he was the recipient of many awards and commendations. He retired in 1985.
Mr. Mazzuchelli was an active member of the Italian-American Veterans Post of Milford, where he served as Post Commander for two terms. He was also a member of the Milford Plains Association and a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Milford.
Angelo enjoyed being with his family, tending to his garden, rooting for the Red Sox and spending time at his vacation house in Narragansett RI.
Along with his beloved wife, he is survived by 3 Sons: Steven L. Mazzuchelli and his wife Pamela, Paul A. Mazzuchelli and his wife Cabiria and James J. Mazzuchelli and his wife Rebecca, all of Milford MA. He also leaves 6 Grandsons: Steven, David, Mark, Andrew, Matthew and Nicholas Mazzuchelli; his sister: Norma Paccioretti of Quincy MA; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Mazzuchelli was predeceased by one brother: Rebello Mazzuchelli of Milford and one sister: Stella Labadini of Quioncy.
His funeral, with Military Honors, will be held Monday (July 23rd) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (Upper Church), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be held Sunday (July 22nd) from 4pm to 7pm at the funeral home.
