Mrs. Josephine P. (Niro) Tosches, 92, of Milford MA, died early Saturday morning (July 7, 2012) at her residence after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Nicholas P. Tosches Sr., who died in 1993.
Mrs. Tosches was born in Milford, the daughter of the late Alphonse and the late Marianina (Pannichelli) Niro. She attended Milford Public Schools and was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1937. She was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
Mrs. Tosches was first employed as a young woman at the former Lisch Hat Shop and the former Kartiganer Hat Shop and then later at the former Sportswear manufacturing company located in Framingham MA, where she worked as a seamstress. She retired from Fenwal Corportaion, located in Ashland MA.
The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care received from the caring staff at VNA & Hospice of Greater Milford, especially from Kelly and Anita.
Mrs. Tosches is survived by 2 Daughters: Patricia Ellard and her husband Frederick of Westfield MA and Maureen Tosches of Milford MA; 1 Son: Nicholas P. Tosches Jr. MD., and his wife Patricia of Sharon CT; 4 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters: Rose Mucciarone of Cumberland RI and Angelina Torregrossa of North Providence RI; 1 Brother: Antonio Niro of Sun City AZ; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday (July 10th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in the Lower Chapel of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Milford MA. A visiting hour will be held Tuesday morning (July 10th) from 8:30am to 9:30am, prior to her Funeral Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to VNA & Hospice of Greater Milford, c/o Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation, 14 Prospect Street, Milford MA 01757.

Patty,Maureen and Nick,
Our deepest sympathy to all of you and your entire families. The memories of your mother were always of laughter and good conversation. The wonderful times at the beach house and company of both your mom and dad are memories that I will treasure always. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayer during this difficult times. Know that I truly believe that she is looking down on everyone and her spirit will be with you each and every day.
