Daniel Joseph White, 87, of Framingham MA, passed away peacefully on February 01, 2024 at Prescott House in North Andover, MA. Daniel was the son of the late Jennie (LaRue) White and John White, of Dorchester, MA. He was husband to Maryellen C. (Fitzpatrick) White who predeceased him on November 23, 2015.
Daniel attended Saint Ambrose Parish Elementary School in Dorchester, MA. He went on to Cathedral High School in Boston's South End and graduated in 1954 as Class President. While attending college, he joined the U.S. Naval Reserves and served part time at the South Weymouth Naval Base. He completed an associate degree in Chemistry from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. He worked his entire career as a Research Chemist with his longest tenure at Avery Dennison Manufacturing Company in Framingham, MA. He retired in 2004 from Proma Technologies in Franklin, MA.
Daniel was an avid catamaran sailor who could be frequently seen on Lake Cochituate flying the hull. He loved being outdoors: camping, hiking, bicycling, and stargazing. He fancied himself an amateur meteorologist, keeping close tabs on daily weather and sharing forecasts. He enjoyed going to the movies and live theatre with his wife. He held a special place in his heart for all their pet kitties.
Daniel was predeceased by his son Kevin White of Merrimac MA and is survived by Kevin's wife Catherine and their children Brienne Walsh and her husband David; Ashley White-Hogue and her husband Alex; and Victoria Gray and her husband Steve. He is survived by his daughter Linda Buck of North Andover MA and her two children Hillary and Graham and his wife Krista. He is survived by his stepson David Torosian, of Milford MA, and his wife Theresa and their three children Michele Milmore and her husband Shaun, Alexander, and Eve. He also had six great-grandchildren: Harleigh Walsh, Tristan Walsh, Calvin Walsh, Carrigan Walsh, Cylas White-Hogue, and Isla Gray.
Relatives & friends are invited to attend his Graveside Committal Service on MONDAY (April 15th) at 12 NOON in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cedar Street (Rte 85), Milford MA. There are no visiting hours.
