Mrs. Carol A. (Ewen) Bailey, 76, of Blackstone MA died Thursday (March 14, 20024) at the Milford Regional Medical Center after an illness.
Carol was born in Boston MA, the daughter of the late Harry R. Ewen and the late Mary Frances ((Richard) Ewen. She attended public schools in Bangor ME as a young girl, graduating from John Bapst High School in Bangor Maine. She later attended Beal University.
Carol was first employed as a young woman as a research lab technician at Eastern Maine General Hospital located in Bangor ME. Following that she became a devoted housewife and mother for several years. After raising her family she returned to the workforce, working at the Pagell Corporation located in Holliston MA. Following that she had been employed at the Avery-Dennison Manufacturing located in Holliston MA. Lastly, she was employed as an office manager, working in the commercial construction industry.
Carol loved to knit & crochet, and also loved to paint and do gardening. She also loved to play the piano and loved to play cards, especially cribbage & pitch. Carol was an avid NE sports fan, rooting for all the local teams.
Carol is survived by her 4 children: Robert D. Bailey and his wife Jacqueline of Bellingham MA, Kelly L. Bailey of Mashpee MA, Melissa A. Bailey and her partner Travis Ryan of Blackstone MA and Brenda Kalchthaler of Knoxville TN; 2 granddaughters: Jillian Bailey of Bellingham MA and Britney Shaw and her husband Corey Shaw & their two children; 1 sister: Elaine Nightingale of Poland ME; also several nieces & nephews.
Carol was the sister of the late Robert Ewen Jr.
In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place. A Celebration of her Life will be held at a future date.
