Albert Sayles Obituary

Mr. Albert B. “Buddy” Sayles, 65, of Marlborough MA and formerly of Milford MA, died unexpectedly on Thursday (January 23, 2020).

 

Mr. Sayles was born in Milford MA, the son of the late Albert C. and the late Josephine (Caccavelli) Sayles. He attended the former St. Mary’s parochial schools and was a graduate of the former St. Mary’s Central Catholic High School, Class of 1972. He also attended UMASS-Amherst College and the University of New Haven in CT

on a baseball scholarship.

 

“Buddy” was an accomplished baseball player in high school and also played for the John W. Powers Post #59 American Legion baseball team. He was an avid sports fan to all of the New England sports teams and was a proud uncle to all of his nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.

 

Mr. Sayles was first employed at Data General Corporation in Westboro MA and then at Enron Corporation located in Milford MA. Most recently he had been employed at The Dollar Store in Marlboro MA.

 

He is survived by his four sisters: Carol, wife of Robert Doyle of Oakton VA, Jo-Ann, wife of Mark Ronan of Lake Orion MI, Maureen, wife of Michael Bresciani of Hopedale MA and Concie, wife of Andrew Kniager of Hopkinton MA; also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, aunts, uncles & cousins. 

 

In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place and a private graveside committal service will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no visiting hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA.       

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Albert Sayles Scholarship, Checks payable to: Hopedale High School Alumni Association, P O Box #25, Hopedale MA 01747      or  to       SMOC, 7 Bishop Street, Framingham MA 01702.
