Mr. Aldo P. Tarca, 97, of Hopedale MA died Saturday (May 25, 2019) at Milford Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis T. (Dimock) Tarca.
Aldo was born in Milford MA, the son of the late John and the late Susan (Moredo) Tarca. He attended Milford Public schools and was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1939. He was also a graduate of Wentworth Institute.
Aldo was a WW II US Navy veteran. He was employed for forty years at the former Draper Corporation in Hopedale MA, where he was chief power plant engineer. He later worked at the Dennison Manufacturing Company in Framingham MA for about two years.
Aldo had been a resident of Hopedale for sixty-two years and was active in the Hopedale community. He had served for thirty years as a member of the Hopedale Water & Sewer Commission. He also had served as a cub scout leader, a webelos scout leader and boy scout leader for many years and had served on the Algonquin Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Aldo was also a member of the Italian-American Veterans Post of Milford.
Along with his beloved wife of 67 years, he is survived by his 3 children: John Tarca of Ventura CA; Edward Tarca and his wife Barbara of Hopkinton MA and Lisa, wife of John McCormick of Bolton MA; 6 grandchildren; great grandchildren & 2 nieces.
In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday (June 15th) at 10am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (UPPER CHURCH), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. A Private Committal Service, for immediate family members only, with Military Honors will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
