Anita J. (Dumas) Burque

Mrs. Anita J. ((Dumas) Burque, 88, formerly of  Milford MA, died Friday (May 10, 2019) at Grand View Nursing Center in Cumberland RI after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. M. Burque, who died in 1987.

Anita was born in Worcester MA, the daughter of the late Theodore and the late Eva (Brault) Dumas. She was a graduate of Commerce High School, Class of 1949.

Anita was first employed as a young woman at the former Cushing Hospital located in Framingham MA. She later was employed at the former Geriatric Authority of Milford  and then for over twenty-five years as a medical secretary at Milford Hospital.

Anita was an accomplished seamstress and loved to crochet blankets for her grandchildren & great grandchildren. She also loved listening to music and singing. She also enjoyed her many trips to the casinos.

Anita is survived by her 6 children: Denise, wife of Steven Prymak of Southbridge MA; Susan, wife of John Rousseau of Warwick RI; Jeanne, wife of Gerald Parent of Uxbridge MA; Elaine, wife of Arthur Medeiros of East Providence RI; Christine, wife of Charles Mort of Milford MA and Maryanne Lucier of Milford MA;                 17 grandchildren:  15 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; 3 sisters: Muriel Dunford of Auburn MA; Gloria Kaczynski of Worcester MA and Dolores Dumas of Warwick RI; also several nieces & nephews.

Her funeral will be held Thursday (May 16th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at  12 Noon in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA. A visiting hour will be held Thursday (May 16th) from 10:30am to 11:30am, prior to her Funeral Mass.
