Anna Marie "Nancy" (Scahill) Power

Mrs. Nancy (Scahill) Power, 89, of Hopedale MA, died Friday (December 28, 2018) at the Milford Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Power Jr., who died in 2007.

Mrs. Power was born in Hopedale MA, the daughter of the late James and the late Sarah (Norton) Scahill. She was a graduate of the former St. Mary’s High School in Milford. As a young woman she was first employed at the former Draper Corporation located in Hopedale. She later worked as a medical secretary at the Milford Hospital.

Mrs. Power was an avid reader and loved traveling and story telling. She loved spending time with her family, especially summers on Cape Cod & Maine.

She is survived by her 2 Daughters: Mary Elizabeth Balian of Hopedale MA and Nancy Lee, wife of Robert Derderian of Milford MA; 4 Grandchildren: Christopher Balian of Taviner FL, Shawn Balian of Hopedale MA, Robert Derderian and his wife Beth of Chicago IL and Rory Derederian and his wife Caitlin of Brooklyn NY;      3 Great Grandchildren: Emily Daudelin of Milford MA, Julian Derderian of Chicago IL and Reagan Derderian of Brooklyn NY; 2 Sisters: Pauline D’Alesio of Needham MA and Dorothy, wife of Robert Gately of Hopedale MA.

She was the mother of the late Susan E. Power who died in 1966 and the late John F. Power III, who died in 2008. She was also the sister of the late John Scahill, the late Mary Challela and the late Eileen Callery.

Funeral services will be held Thursday (January 3rd) at 11am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA. A visiting hour will be held Thursday (January 3rd) from 10am to 11am, prior to her funeral services.
