Bernard McCoy Obituary

Mr. Bernard J. “BJ” McCoy, 70, of Milford MA died Tuesday morning (March 20, 2018) at the Stanley R. Tippett Hospice Home in Needham MA after an illness. He was the beloved husband of Catherine M. (Griffith) McCoy.

 

Mr. McCoy was born in Philadelphia PA, the son of the late Bernard J. and the late Carolyn (DiLuzio) McCoy. He was a graduate of Saleasian High School in Detroit MI. He attended Wayne State in Detroit MI and was a graduate of Framingham State College in Framingham MA.

 

Mr. McCoy loved cats and volunteered at the Milford Humane Society. He also loved being “on-line” and had many internet friends from around the world. He formerly acted in multiple plays with the Milford Theatre Guild, the Holliston Curtaintimers and short films with Sideshow Cinema. He was also an avid historian and an avid Red Sox fan, Celtics fan & St. Louis Cardinals fan.

 

Along with being raised in Philadelphia PA, he had resided many years in Royal Oak MI and had been a resident of Milford MA since 2014.

 

Along with his beloved wife of 32 years, he is survived by 2 Sisters: Delores McCoy of Woonsocket RI and Karen Cavalieri, wife of Peter Cavalieri of Franklin MA; a niece: Katie Cavalieri Davis, wife of Brendon Davis of Littleton MA; a nephew: Anthony Cavalieri of Franklin MA; also grandnephews: Brody Davis and Tanner Davis of Littleton MA.

 

In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place. There will be no funeral services. Bernard would rather you remember him as the fun loving and devoted friend that he was and honor his life with a toast in remembrance. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA..

 

Memorial donations may be made to The Milford Humane Society;  the Dana Farber Cancer Care Center @ Milford Regional Medical Center    or to  the American Cancer Society.
