Bonnie L. (Benson) Dicks

Mrs. Bonnie L. (Benson) Dicks,of Mendon MA passed away Saturday evening (May 26, 2018) in the comfort of her own home surrounded by loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Bonnie  was the the loving and caring wife of Gerald R. Dicks. Proud mother of Emily Dicks and Jennifer Lynch with her husband David. She held the affectionate title of Gee to her grandchildren, Jordan, Amalee, Samantha, Dalton and the late Molleigh.

Bonnie was raised in Sudbury MA and was the daughter of the late David and Jean Benson. She also leaves behind hers sisters, Gail Marini and her husband Robert, and Susan Benson Tempesta with her fiancé Scott, also many nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, and received a secretarial degree from Chandler College in Boston MA. Later in life she received her Early Childhood Education Certificate from Dean College in Franklin MA.

During her lifetime her career was a prideful mother and homemaker however prior to children she worked for the First National Bank of Boston. Later in life she was a pre-school teacher, and worked for Akzo Salt, as an administrative assistant. She volunteered as a Girl Scout leader and taught CCD at St. Michael’s Parish in Mendon MA. Bonnie enjoyed gardening, reading, shopping, and holidays, especially Christmas. Most of all she loved spending time with family and friends.  

Visiting hours will be held Thursday (May 31st) from 5pm to 7pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA, with a Prayer Service to take place at 7pm.

Relatives & friends are invited to attend her Graveside Committal Service on Friday (June 1st) at 11am in Blue Hill Cemetery, 700 West Street, Braintree MA. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made  to Boy’s Town @ www.boystown.org       or to    a food pantry of your choosing.
