Mr. Brian J. Flumere Sr., 61, of Milford MA, died unexpectedly on Wednesday (February 28, 2018) while away on a business trip. He was the beloved husband of Janet A. (Henry) Flumere.
Mr. Flumere was born in Framingham MA, the son of the late John A. and the late Lillian (Slattery) Flumere. He was a graduate of Marian High School, Class of 1975 and also a graduate of Northeastern University, Class of 1980.
Mr. Flumere had been employed in the computer industry for many years, working for IBM, Xerox, Lexmark and most recently for NEC. He had resided in Natick MA, Ossining NY, Hamden CT and had been a resident of Milford since 1988.
Mr. Flumere was an avid participant in the Hoboken Citizens Club golf league. He was an avid supporter of MHS football and had served as a youth coach. He was a proud supporter of his children’s many sports, interests & activities. He was also the founder of the “Coleman Awards”. He loved his garden, his pool, York Beach in ME and his pet dog “Mookie”.
Along with his beloved wife of 36 years, he is survived by his 4 Children: Michael Flumere and his fiancée Christine Andreotti of Somerville MA, Brian J. Flumere Jr. and his wife Maria Rita of Milford MA, Gregory J. Flumere of Milford MA and Elisabeth R. Flumere of Milford MA; 1 Sister: Gail, wife of James Downey of Natick MA; also nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late Keith M. Flumere.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday (March 7th) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. In accordance with his wishes cremation will follow and a private committal service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday (March 6th) from 5pm to 8pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.
