Carrie A. (Alban) Barrett, 74, of Bellingham MA and formerly of Newton MA, died Sunday morning (October 22, 2017) at Milford Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

 

Carrie was born in Boston MA, the daughter of the late Earl and the late Florence (Nevers) Alban. She attended day Junior High School & Newton High School. She also attended Otterbein College.

 

Carrie had been a member of the Girl Scouts and also attended an American Youth Foundation  camp, Camp Miravista, in New Hampshire. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved photography & travel. She had a passion for life and loved living it.

 

Carrie was the owner & operator of The Privileged Pet, located in Newton MA from 1983 to 1987.  She moved to Bellingham MA in 1986 to pursue her passion and lifelong dream of working with animals and caring for them. While residing in Bellingham, she was an active member of the Bellingham Bible Baptist Church and enjoyed playing the piano & singing in the church’s women’s choir.

 

Carrie is survived by her 2 Sons: Gregory A. Gregg and his wife Cindy of Fredericktown OH and David C. Gregg and his wife Cherie of Hollywood FL; 1 Granddaughter: Estelle Abel and her mother Vanessa Abel of Marysville OH; 1 Sister: Joyce, wife of Joseph Kennedy of Chesapeake VA; also several nieces & nephews.

 

In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service/Tea Party on Thursday (October 26th) at 6pm at the Bellingham Bible Baptist Church, 365 Hartford Avenue, Bellingham MA. Private committal services of her cremains will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no visiting hours.
