Edward R. Babineau

Mr. Edwards R. Babineau, 79, of Milford MA, died Tuesday (February 14, 2017) at the UMASS-Memorial Medical Center in Worcester MA. He was the beloved husband of the late Roberta H. (Reams) Babineau, who died in 2014.

Mr. Babineau was born in Waltham MA, the son of the late Edgar J. and the late Marie Ann (Gaudet) Babineau. He attended public schools in Waltham as a young man. As a young man he drove taxi cab to support himself as he studied to become a draftsman.

Mr. Babineau had been employed for over 25 years as an electrical draftsman, working for various engineering firms. Upon his retirement from be a draftsman, he owned & operated a variety store in Brighton MA, for about four years. Following that, he was employed as a school bus driver for the Waltham MA public school system. Mr. Babineau was also a US Army veteran.

Mr. Babineau had been a resident of Milford for the past twelve years, and prior to that had resided in Waltham MA. He was an avid golfer, loved to do puzzles and also later in life became interested in astronomy through the use of his telescope.

Mr. Babineau is survived by his 3 Children: Michael E. Babineau of Bow NH, Edward R. Babineau Jr. and his wife Anita of Alpharetta GA and Roberta, wife of Daniel Lynnworth of Upton MA; 6 Grandchildren; 1 Brother: Richard Babineau and his wife Deb of Berlin MA; 2 Sisters: Evelyn O’Reilly of Waltham MA and Joanne , wife of Rod Ravesi of Waltham MA; also several nieces & nephews.

Mr. Babineau was the brother of the late Norman “Skippy” Babineau and the late Robert Babineau.

In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place. Relatives & friends are invited to attend a Celebration of his Life on Friday (February 17th) from 6pm to 8pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
