Helen F. (Hakey) Grover

Mrs. Helen F. (Hakey) Grover, 95, of Milford MA and formerly of Londonderry VT, died Friday (May 5, 2017) at Blaire House of Milford after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward W. Grover, who died in 2004.

Mrs. Grover was born in St. Albans VT, the daughter of the late William and the late Emma (Peters) Hakey. She attended school in St. Albans VT as a young girl and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. She was also a graduate of the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital School of Nursing in Boston MA.

Upon graduation from nursing school she enlisted in the US Navy where she served as a navy nurse. Following her service in the US Navy she became employed as a postal clerk, working for the US Postal Service in the Londonderry VT post office.

Mrs. Grover was a member of the American Legion in Londonderry VT and was an avid golfer who loved to play at many golf courses.

She is survived by 2 Daughters: Cheryl G. Wilcox and her husband Ronald of Manchester VT and Bonnie G. Lafleur and her husband William of Milford MA; 5 Grandchildren: Sara Wilcox of Manchester VT, Gregory Wilcox of Albany NY, Emily Lafleur and Katie Lafleur of Natick MA and Ann Lafleur Goutis and her husband Dimitri of Ashland MA; also 2 Great Grandsons: Ethan Goutis and Adam Goutis of Ashland MA.

In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place. Private Graveside Committal Services will take place at the convenience of the family. There are no visiting hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home of Milford MA.     

Memorial donations may be made to The Mountain Valley Health Center in Londonderry VT  or to The Londonderry VT Rescue Squad.
