Herbert Edgar Wright Jr.

Mr. Herbert Edgar Wright Jr., 81, of Milford MA died unexpectedly on Tuesday (August 20, 2019) after a long life dedicated to his children and family.

Herb was born and raised in Milford, the son of the late Carmella Grace (Consoletti) Wright and the late Herbert E. Wright Sr. He resided in Millbury for a time, where he taught school and started his family with his former wife Kathleen H. (Caroll) Wright, before moving back to Milford many years ago.

Herb (Bud) was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, served in the US Navy, and then earned degrees from Clark University. In addition to teaching he also worked at Stop & Shop, Seavers Express, and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. For several decades before retiring he owned and operated his own jewelry business. Herb was an active communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Milford.

He is survived by his three beloved daughters: Cheryl Eidinger-Taylor and her husband Bruce of Uxbridge MA, Justine (Tina) Wildfeuer and her husband Steven of Northbridge MA and Jennifer Wright of Milford MA;  his five grandchildren who he adored: Bruce Eidinger and his wife Samantha of Middlefield CT, Jessica Smith and her husband Thomas Jude of Bellingham MA, Amanda Kidder of Milford MA, Sarah Wildfeuer and Emily Wildfeuer of Northbridge MA; his three great grandchildren; and his siblings: Florence Wright of Worcester MA and George Wright and his wife Susan of Harwich Port MA & Palm Beach Gardens FL; .Herb also leaves behind two close friends: Dawn Matthews of Bellingham MA and Andy Borer of Newport RI. He was the brother of the late Sr. Mary Lou Wright of Chicopee MA. Herbie’s kind heart, love of music, and sense of humor will be sorely missed.  

His funeral will be held Saturday (August 31st) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be held Friday (August 30th) from 5pm to 7pm.
