Hilda Louise (Arsenault) Smith

Mrs. Hilda Louise (Arsenault) Smith, 90, of Milford MA, died unexpectedly on Sunday (July 1, 2018). She was the beloved wife of the late Michael R. “Ray” Smith, who died in 1991.

Mrs. Smith was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late Stanley and the late Honora (Closick) Arsenault. She attended the former St. Mary’s Grammar School and was a graduate of the former St. Mary’s High School. She was also a graduate of the former St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing.

Mrs. Smith had a long and accomplished career as a registered nurse, working at the Milford Hospital for over fifty years where she worked as a floor nurse, later head of ICU and finally in the educational department of the hospital.

She is survived by her 3 Children: Michael R. Smith of Milford MA, Jeanne F. Smith of Milford MA and Daniel G. Smith and his wife Patricia of Milford MA; 2 Grandchildren: Camryn Pittman of Quincy MA and Danielle Smith of Milford MA; also several nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Margaret Morelli, the late George “Buster” Arsenault and the late Jean Care.

Her funeral will be held Friday (July 6th) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burl at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be held Thursday (July 5th) from 5pm to 7pm.
