James Kenneth Mullaney

October 7, 1923 ~ October 18, 2017 (age 94) 94 Years Old


Mr. James K. Mullaney, 94, of Milford MA, died Wednesday (October 18, 2017) at his residence after a period of declining health. He was the husband of the late Viola “Vi” (Fantini) Mullaney.

 

Mr. Mullaney was born in Brooklyn NY, the son of the late James C. and the late Mary (Walsh) Mullaney. He attended Holy Name School and was a graduate of Hope High School in Providence RI. He also attended Brown University.

 

Mr. Mullaney was a WW II US Navy veteran having served in the Asiatic-Pacific theatre.

 

Mr. Mullaney had been employed at Verizon Yellow Pages for thirty-six years. He was a past Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus, a past-president of the March of Dimes in Providence RI, active in the United Way and a Board Member of AARP – Massachusetts. He also had served as the lead commentator to The Senior Scene Show on Milford Community Cable Television for many years.

 

Mr. Mullaney is survived by his 6 Children: James A. Mullaney and his wife Patricia of Oceanside CA, Kathleen C. Mullaney of Attleboro MA, Patricia E. Mullaney and her husband Howard Kaufman of Bryn Mawr PA, John J. Mullaney and his wife Eileen of East Greenwich RI, Kevin P. Mullaney of Milford MA and Jeanne E. Mullaney of Riverside RI; 6 Grandchildren: Jennifer Mullaney, Molly Mullaney, Caitlin Swain, John Mullaney, Daniel Mullaney and Michael Mullaney; 3 Great Grandchildren: Charlotte Swain, Frederick Swain and Camden Webber.

 

Mr. Mullaney was the father of the late M. Colleen Mullaney of Pawtucket RI and the brother of the late Elizabeth T. Mullaney of Providence RI.

 

His funeral, with Military Honors, will be held Saturday (October 21st) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. A visiting hour will be held Saturday (October 21st) from 9:30am to 10:30am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, prior to his Funeral Mass.
