November 22, 1946 ~ April 22, 2017 (age 70) 70 Years Old


Mr. John L. Neary Sr., 70, of Bellingham MA, died Saturday (April 22, 2017) at the Milford Regional Medical Center after an illness. He was the beloved husband of Noreen M. (Iannitelli) Neary.

 

Mr. Neary was born in St. Paul, Minnesota the son of the late James and the late Marion (Kaufmann) Neary. He was a graduate of Wilson High School in St. Paul MN.

 

Mr. Neary was a Viet Nam War veteran having served in the US Army. He was a longtime employee of General Motors first working at the assembly plant in Framingham MA and Baltimore MD and then later at their parts facilities located in Norton MA and Westwood MA, retiring in 2008. He was also a longtime member of the UAW.

 

Mr. Neary had been active in the Men’s Over 30 Softball League in Bellingham MA and had also volunteered part time as a Pop Warner Football League coach and as a Little League Baseball coach. He was an avid NASCAR race fan and loved to listen to country music.

 

 Along with his beloved wife of 35 years, he is survived by his 4 Children: Kelly, wife of Michael Luce of East Taunton MA, Leslee, wife of Sean Gregory of Milton, Ontario Canada, Ray Baker III of Bellingham MA and John Neary Jr. and his wife Emily of Evansville IN; 11 Grandchildren: Coedy Neary, Zachary Luce, Jordan Kauffman, Maranda Gregory, Gretchen Luce, Michael Luce, Kaylee Neary, Ryan Gregory, Chase Gregory, Monroe Neary and Alex Baker;      6 Siblings: Pat Nelson and her husband Merlin of Scandia MN, Mary “Dee” Sommers of St. Paul MN, Thomas Neary of Circle Pines MN, Kathy Beavers and her husband Cliff of Hopkinton MA, Helen Amsden and her husband Larry of North St. Paul MN and Debbie Vorwork of Motley MN;  also many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.

 

Mr. Neary was the brother of the late Sheila Mitchell, the late Jim Neary, the late Dennis Neary and the late Kevin Neary.

 

His funeral, with Military Honors, will be held Friday (April 28th) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (UPPER CHURCH), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Milford MA. Visiting hours will be Thursday (April 27th) from 5pm to 8pm.
