Josephine M. "Tootsie" (Ferrante) Veneziano

Mrs. Josephine M. “Tootsie” (Ferrante) Veneziano, 92, of Milford MA died Tuesday (May 28, 2019) at Countryside Healthcare of Milford after an illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred J. Veneziano, who died in 1992.

She was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late Gaetano and the late Rose (Testa) Ferrante and had lived here all her life. She graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1944.

She was the devoted mother of Donna Veneziano of Milford MA, Robert Veneziano and his partner Paula Trombetta of Taunton MA and Ann Veneziano-Korzec of Sturbridge MA. She shared a special bond with her late son-in-law, Richard Korzec. She also leaves her brother Frank Ferrante and his wife Irene of Milford MA.

Grammy of Robert Veneziano and his wife Christine, Traci Veneziano, Brian Veneziano and his wife Kelly, Mark Veneziano, Matthew R. Korzec, Kristin (Korzec) and her husband Jordan Dean and Ashley (Korzec) and her husband Jonathan Baron.

Noni to her loving great grandchildren Cody, Zachary, Julianna, Chatham, Owen and Ryan. She was “Auntie” to many nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews and many close cousins.

She was first employed at Schule der Kleinen Kinder, a private kindergarten, as an assistant and went on to work in the Special Education Department at Milford High School where she retired after twenty-four years of service. After retirement in 1996 she did many years of volunteering in the Milford public schools. She also worked at the Voting Polls in Milford for twenty-five years.

Tootsie was a very social woman who enjoyed being with her family and many dear friends whose company she cherished. She enjoyed shopping, cruises and travelling especially to Italy. She loved all of the special events at both the Milford & Hopedale Senior Centers. One of her greatest pleasures was attending her grandchildren & great grandchildren’s sporting events.

Her funeral will be held Monday (June 3rd) at 9:30am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (UPPER CHURCH), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be held Sunday (June 2nd) from 4pm to 7pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.
