Mr. Kenneth R. Orff, 87, of Hopedale MA and formerly of Westborough MA, died Saturday (May 5, 2018) at Countryside Healthcare of Milford after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret (Cann) Orff, who died in 1997.
Mr. Orff was born in Saugus MA, the son of the late Ralph B. and the late Tillie (Frieswick) Orff. He was a graduate of Saugus High School and also the University of Massachusetts, Class of 1954, where he earned a degree in economics.
Following a tour of duty in the US Air Force, Mr. Orff began his career as a paper salesman for P H Glatfelter located in York PA from 158 to 1963. He later was employed at Georgia Pacific and Lindenmey Munroe until he retired in 1998.
Mr. Orff had been longtime member of the William Sutton Lodge of Masons in Saugus MA and had been a member of the Westborough Community Chorus where he had played the role as Santa Claus.
Mr. Orff is survived by his 3 Children: Marillee, wife of David Ogilvie of Hopedale MA; Jennifer, wife of Peter Manning of Upton MA; Christopher Orff and his partner Tori Gilman of Scarborough ME; 1 Sister: Clarice Chase of York ME; 10 Grandchildren in order of appearance: Benjamin Manning and his wife Jen of Newton MA; Thompson Ogilvie and his wife Casey of Santa Barbara CA; Jeremiah Manning and his wife Amanda of Kennebunk ME; Colin Ogilvie of New York City NY; Margaret Ogilvie and her partner Ezra Wolfinger of Cape Elizabeth ME; Joshua Manning of Cleveland OH; Samuel Manning of Lancaster PA; Nathan Orff, Hailey Orff and Nolan Orff of Scarborough ME; also nieces & nephews.
In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place. A private committal service will be held at the convenience of the family at Pine Grove Cemetery in Westborough MA. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
