Lillian Papelian Obituary

Lillian Rose (Lombardi) Papelian , 86, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater FL, from a brief illness. 

Lillian was born and raised in Milford, MA, the daughter of the late Michael Lombardi and Rose (DePaolo) Lombardi.  She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and Worcester State University. She was an English Teacher, Public Speaking Teacher and started the Drama Club at Bellingham High School.  Lillian spent most of her life in Milford, but spent her retiring years between Pinellas Park, Florida and Onset, MA, Cape Cod.

Lillian is the Wife to the late Marderos “Gooch” Papelian of 41 years and Mother to the late Mark Steven Papelian and Karen Ann Buckley. She was predeceased by her Sisters: Anita wife of John Besozzi; Victoria wife of Robert Tocchi; Elizabeth wife of Michael Parisi; Anna wife of Samuel Mancuso;  and Michelle wife of Peter Luchini.  Also her Sisters-in- Law: Helen wife of Richard Dederian and Ann Papelian.  

 

Lillian is survived by her sister: Patricia, wife of Peter Fontecchio of Truro, MA; her Granddaughter Michelle Buckley of Charlotte, NC; her Grandson, James “Jaime” Buckley and Great Grandson, Beckham “Jett” Buckley of Atlanta, GA;, her Brother-in Law: Antranig, husband of the late Barbara ( Zeroogian ) Papelian of Norwich, CT; her Sister-in-Law: Gloria ( Tomaso ), wife of the late Hagop Papelian of Hopedale, MA and many nieces and nephews. 

 

Lillian will be remembered for the Lombardi girl charm, her selflessness, her devotion to her family, friends, students and God and will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Lillian’s family will bring her back home for a Memorial Mass to be held on Saturday, July 14th at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main Street, Milford MA.  Following will be a graveside burial at Vernon Grove Cemetery in Milford MA and Celebration of Life Meal at the Bell Tower Room at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
