Robert Charles Barnes Sr.

Mr. Robert C. Barnes Sr., 84, of Plymouth MA died September 23, 2017 at Blaire House of Milford after a period of declining health. He was the husband of the late Lorraine E. (Williams) Barnes.

Mr. Barnes was born in South Boston MA, the son of the late Stephen A. and the late Ethel M. (Stevenson) Barnes. He was a high school graduate of the Boston public schools and was a Korean Conflict veteran of the US Navy.

Following his military service he began his long career in the construction industry working as a heavy equipment operator as a member of Union Local #4. He was an avid fisherman & boater.

Mr. Barnes is survived by 1 Daughter: Linda E. Barnes of Pascoag RI; 1 Son: Robert C. Barnes Jr. and his wife Karen of Ipswich MA; 6 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren; 1 Brother: Thomas Barnes of Cape Cod; nieces & nephews and his companion: June Bernard of Plymouth MA.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A private committal service, with Military Honors, will be held at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton MA at the convenience of the family. There are no visiting hours.
