Shirley Irene (Newton) Sessa

Mrs. Shirley I. (Newton) Sessa, 81, of Milford MA, died Monday (September 25, 2017) at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester MA after an illness. She was the beloved wife of Joseph C. Sessa Sr.

Mrs. Sessa was born in Holliston MA, the daughter of the late Raymond and the late Hannah (Stewart) Newton. She attended public schools in Milford MA.

Mrs. Sessa was first employed as a young woman at the former Milford Shoe Company and following that as an aide at the former Adin Manor nursing home in Hopedale MA. Following that she served as a crossing guard for the Town of Milford for several years.

Mrs. Sessa had been an active member at the Holliston Senior Center.

Along with her beloved husband of 60 years, she is survived by her 5 Children: Cynthia, wife of Charles Wood III of Uxbridge MA, Debbie, wife of Dermot Daley of Bellingham MA, Sheila, wife of William Rolon of Webster MA, Judy Birch of Milford MA and Joseph C. Sessa Jr. and his wife Brenda of Whitinsville MA; 8 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren; 1 Brother: Kenneth Newton of Woonsocket RI; 1 Sister: Carol Newton of Upton MA; also many nieces & nephews.

Mrs. Sessa was the sister of the late Barbara St. George, the late Audrey Lataille, the late Raymond Newton Jr., the late Kathy Newton Buck, the late Eleanor Byron, the late Ruth Paille and the sister-in-law of the late Joyce Newton.

Her funeral will be held Monday (October 2nd) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (UPPER CHURCH), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be Sunday (October 1st) from 2pm to 5pm.

Due to the reconstruction of the church parking lot you are requested to park in the municipal parking lot across the street from the church.
