Mrs. Aurora S. "Lola" (Moffi) Celozzi, 94, of Milford MA died Thursday morning (February 27, 2020) at the Countryside Healthcare of Milford after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Mario J. Celozzi, who died in 1988 and the beloved mother of the late James M. Celozzi, who died in 1979.
Lola was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late Michael and the late Maria (Pettinicchio) Moffi. She attended Milford public schools and was first employed as a young woman at the former Kartiganer Hat Shop. She was a devoted wife and mother, and after raising her family she was employed at MCI-Framingham.
Lola was a lifelong resident of Milford and a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. She was an avid reader, but her favorite past-time was spending time with her family members, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, to whom she was devoted.
She is survived by her son: Louis J. Celozzi and his wife Elaine of Milford MA; her four grandchildren: Atty. Jillian N. Celozzi and her husband Carlo Conzatti of Milford MA, Christopher L. Celozzi of Rutland MA, James "Jamie" Celozzi of Kelseyville CA and Eren Celozzi of Yarmouth MA; her 4 great grandchildren: Regine Rose, Jayme Rose, Sophya Rose of Yarmouth MA and Lola Conzatti of Milford MA; her great great granddaughter: Jaylynn Franklin of Yarmouth MA. She is also survived by her sister: Margaret Petrarca of Warwick RI and many nieces & nephews.
She was the sister of the late Lena Racamato, the late Lucy Maressa, the late Arthur Moffi, the late Louis Moffi and the late Aldo "James" Moffi.
Her funeral will be held Monday ( March 2nd) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (UPPER CHURCH), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be Sunday (March 1st) from 2pm to 5pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Oliva Cancer Comfort Fund, c/o Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation, 14 Prospect Street, Milford MA 01757 or to The St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-9959.
