Mrs. Claire F. (Griggs) Zacchilli, 95, of Milford MA died Sunday (September 11, 2022) at Beaumont Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation in Westborough MA after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Rudolph P. "Chippy" Zacchilli who died in 2007.

Claire was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late John E. Griggs and the late Mildred (Bowen) Griggs. She attended Hopedale public schools and was a graduate of Hopedale High School, Class of 1947

Claire was first employed as a young woman at the former W. T. Grant Store located on Main Street in Milford MA and then at the former Sears & Roebuck Store located in Milford MA. Following that she had been employed for over thirty years as a customer service representative for the Massachusetts Electric Company at their Hopedale MA offices.

Claire was a a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Milford MA where she had served as a Eucharistic minister and a longtime member of the Sacred Heart Women's Club. She also was a longtime volunteer at the Milford Regional Medical Center and had volunteered at The Mustard Seed in Worcester MA through her association with Sacred Heart Church in Hopedale MA.

Claire is survived by her two sons: Atty. John P. Zacchilli and his wife Nancy of Milford MA & Peter A. Zacchilli and his wife Denise of Marlborough MA; her three grandchildren: Matthew P. Zacchilli of Marlborough MA, Daniel A. Zacchilli of Marlborough MA and Catherine M. Zacchilli of Marlborough MA; also several nieces & nephews.

Claire was the mother of the late Lisa J. Zacchilli of Hopedale MA and the sister of the late Florence Chludenski of Uxbridge MA; the late John R. Griggs of Dennis MA and the late June Griggs of Hopedale MA.

Her funeral will be held Friday (September 16th ) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (UPPER CHURCH), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be Thursday (September 15th) from 5pm to 7pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.
