Mrs. Claire B. (O'Brien) Webber, 91, of Milford MA, died Thursday (December 22, 2022) at the Milford Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of Harry W. Webber.

Claire was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late William H. O'Brien and the late Alice M. (Keenan) O'Brien. She was a graduate of the former St. Mary's High School in 1949 and also a graduate of the former St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing in Worcester MA in 1952.

Claire began her long career at Milford Hospital working in the kitchen during high school and later had been  employed as a registered nurse at the Milford Regional Medical Center for many years, retiring in 1994.

Claire was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Milford MA and was a longtime member of the St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Association. As a younger woman she had been a member of the St. Mary's Church Catholic Women's Club and had volunteered on the St. Mary's School PTO.

Claire's greatest joy was watching her grandchildren grow up and spending time with her great grandchildren.

Claire is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years Harry W. Webber, who was a long-time employee of the John J. Casey Insurance Agency and later the Abodeely Insurance Agency of Milford. She is survived by her son Stephen T. Webber, a teacher in the Milford Public Schools and his wife Lauri (Conley) Webber of Westerly RI and her daughter Atty. Patricia (Webber) Redgate and her husband Andrew Redgate of Uxbridge MA. She is also survived by  her daughter-in-law Kathleen (Carmody) Webber of Worcester MA; her 8 grandchildren: Brien Webber, Sean Webber, Jacqueline Morais, Kevin Webber, Kathleen Barry, Bridget Redgate, Kathleen Redgate and Daniel Redgate; her 10 great grandchildren: Jameson Webber, Lucas Webber, Quinn Webber, Madison Webber, Nina Morais, Mason Morais, Harry Webber, Matthew Webber, William Barry and Nolan Barry.

Claire was the mother of the late William H. Webber, former Southborough Police Chief; a 1973 graduate of St. Mary's High School , and the late Daniel J. Webber, a 1974 graduate of St. Mary's High School.

Claire is pre-deceased by her three sisters: Maureen (O'Brien) Cullen and her husband Thomas J. Cullen, her sister Margaret (O'Brien) Balmelli and her husband William Balmelli,  and her sister Mary (O'Brien) Niro and her husband Atty. Angelo Niro.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday (December 27th)  at 11am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed  by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 NOON in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be held Monday (December 26th) from  5pm to 7pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.
