Dennis J. "Jack" Candini

Dennis “Jack”Candini 80, passed away at Milford Hospital on September 27, 2026 after a brief illness. He was born in Framingham, MA, son of Alfred “Terry” Candini and Annette (Creasia) Candini and was a lifelong resident of Milford.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marian (Fitzpatrick) Candini, his son Bryan and his wife, Arielle (Cecala)Candini of Quincy, his daughter Alyssa and her husband, Brendan Leo of Upton, and his three grandchildren, twin granddaughters Savannah and Grayson Leo, and grandson Wesley Leo.He is also survived by his brother Robert and his wife Mary (Marley) Candini, his godchildren Jessica, Michelle, and Matthew Candini, David Piazza, his brothers-in-law, Michael, Mark and Paul Fitzpatrick, Robert Holland, Joseph Clifford, and sisters-in-law Nancy Holland, Ellen Clifford, Joan, Joanne, Jean and RoseAnn Fitzpatrick, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Ann Candini.

He was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.

He was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1963 and earned both a BS and MBA from Suffolk University. He was a Business Education teacher at Milford High School for many years, retiring in 2004. He also coached ice hockey, field hockey and softball.

He was a US Army veteran, having served in Vietnam with MACV and the 4th Infantry Division during 1967 and 1968.He attained the rank of Sergeant and was awarded the Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Army Commendation Medal upon his completion of service. He was honored to serve as Grand Marshal of the Milford Veterans Day parade in 2025.

He was a member of the Hoboken Citizens Club, the American Legion, and the Central Mass Rusty Blades Hockey Club. He was an active hockey player throughout his life, having played in many men’s leagues and tournaments in the New England area and Canada for over sixty years. He closely followed Boston sports teams, especially the Bruins. He enjoyed the music of his generation, historical trivia and starting his day with a Honey Dew coffee.

Jack’s true passion was spending with his family; especially times on Cape Cod and in Narragansett, RI. He loved watching his children participate in sports and cherished time with his grandchildren. He was always behind the camera, capturing every moment. He traveled extensively during his life, visiting all US states and provinces of Canada. He greatly enjoyed family trips throughout the US, Western Europe, and Asia.

His funeral will be held FRIDAY (October 2nd) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main Street, Milford, MA. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. Calling hours will be held THURSDAY (October 1st) from 5pm to 8pm at Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.
