Mrs. Diane C. (Mardorcheo) Frend, 81, of Bellingham MA and formerly of Milford MA died Thursday evening (April 25, 2024) at UMASS-Memorial Medical Center in Worcester MA after an illness.
Diane was born in Watertown MA, the daughter of the late Samuel Mardorcheo and the late Marjorie (Piantedosi) Mardorcheo. She attended Watertown MA public schools, graduating from Watertown High School.
Diane was first employed as a young woman as a switchboard operator for the New England Telephone Company. Following that she began her successful career as a Certified Nursing Assistant & as a home health aide taking care of home bound patients. The last few years she had been employed at Milford Podiatry.
Diane had been a resident of Bellingham MA for the past 15 years and prior to that had resided in Milford MA. She loved spending time with her beloved family members, especially her many grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Diane is survived by her 7 children: John Frend of Uxbridge MA, Cheryl Beckwith of Bellingham MA, Michael Frend and his companion Ellen Hudson of Whitinsville MA, David Frend of Milford MA, Paul Frend and his wife Kelly of Woodstock CT, James Frend and his wife Kimberly of Northbridge MA and Kristen Marino and her husband Daniel Marino of Blackstone MA; her 16 grandchildren; her several great grandchildren; her great great granddaughter and several nieces & nephews.
Diane was the sister of the late Elaine Hayes.
In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on SATURDAY (May 18th) at 10:00AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial of her cremains will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, 3 Speen Street, Suite #250, Framingham MA 01701.
