Mr. Donald A. Belforti, 93, of Milford MA died early Saturday morning (August 3, 2024) at Cornerstone Assisted Living in Milford MA after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of the late Rose (Zacchilli) Belforti who died in 2007.

Donald was born in Milford MA, the son of the late Eugene "Louis" Belforti and the late Dena (SanClemente) Belforti. He was a graduate of the former St. Mary's High School, Class of 1949. As a young man he was first employed at the former Draper Corporation located in Hopedale MA until 1951 when he enlisted in the US Air Force.

Donald was a Korean Conflict veteran serving in the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955, attaining the rank of Airman 1st Class. While serving in the US Air Force, he was assigned to the flight line maintenance on the B-47 Bomber working as an aircraft mechanic.

Following his tour of duty in the US Air Force, Donald returned to the Draper Corporation where he worked as a tool & die maker until 1979. He then went on to work at the General Motors assembly plant in Framingham MA;  Dennison Manufacturing in Framingham MA; Noremac Manufacturing in Westborough MA and the Fenwal Corporation in Ashland MA. He later worked part-time at the Shaw's Supermarket in Milford MA from 1999 to 2003.

Donald was a lifelong resident of Milford MA and a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Milford MA. He was a longtime member of the Italian-American Veterans Post #40 in Milford MA.

Donald was an avid golfer and a member since 1965 of the Hopedale Country Club. He was a longtime participant in the Tuesday morning Hopedale Senior Golf League & the Draper Golf League and the Morning Pitch League at the Hopedale Community House. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting & fishing. He was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan and an avid New England Patriots fan.

Donald is survived by his brother: William Belforti of Deland FL and formerly of Milford MA; his 2 nephews: Dan Belforti of West Palm Beach FL and formerly of Milford MA and Mark Belforti of Wareham MA and formerly of Milford MA; his sister-in-law: Mrs. Ann Marie Belforti of Wareham and formerly of Milford MA; and many cousins.

Donald is also survived by his dear friend & companion: Gloria Ruggiero and her extended family.

His funeral will be held Friday (August 9th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (UPPER CHURCH), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. A visiting hour will be held Friday (August 9th) from 9:30am to 10:30am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home prior to his Funeral Mass.
