Mr. Donald L. Guyton, 88, of Blackstone MA and formerly of Hopedale MA & Milford MA died Saturday (August 3, 2024) at his residence after an illness. He was the beloved husband of Leah ((DeMore) Guyton.

Donald was born in Holliston MA, the son of the late Kenneth L. Guyton and the late Mildred (Malcolm) Guyton. He attended Holliston public schools, graduating from Holliston High School, Class of 1953. He also attended American International College.

Donald had been employed as the Business Manager for the ACLU in Boston MA, where he had worked for the past twenty-five years. Prior to that he had been employed as the manager of the jewelry department at the Lechmere Store located in Cambridge MA.

Donald was a US army veteran having served from 1957 to 1959. He had been a resident of Blackstone MA for the past eight years, and prior to that had resided in East Longmeadow MA, Watertown MA, Milford MA and Hopedale MA. While residing in Hopedale MA he had served as President of the Laurelwood Condominium Association.

Donald was a political activist most of his life, which led to his membership in & his work for the ACLU. He was also a member of the Greater Worcester Humanists and a member of the Unitarian-Universalist Church in Worcester MA. He was also a longtime volunteer at The Dismas House located in Worcester MA.

Donald was an avid reader and loved everything about nature. He also loved listening to jazz music and watching foreign films. He was also a "car nut" and loved driving convertibles.

Along with his beloved wife of 57 years, he is survived by his 3 sons: Kenneth Guyton of Centreville VA, Gregory Guyton and his wife Amy Christmas-Guyton of Milford MA and Jeffrey Guyton and his wife Jennifer Guyton of Uxbridge MA; his 7 grandchildren: Isabella Guyton of Marlborough MA, Grayson Guyton of Framingham MA, Sydney Guyton of Haymarket VA, Curtis Guyton of Haymarket VA, Trey Guyton of Haymarket VA, Lindsey Guyton of Uxbridge MA and Maxwell Guyton of Uxbridge MA; also several nieces & nephews, including Janel Cunneen of Duxbury MA and Todd Cunneen of Plainfield CT.

Donald was the brother of the late Diane Cunneen of Danielson CT.

In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place. There are no funeral home visiting hours. A Celebration of his Life will be held by his family on a DAY & TIME TO BE ANNOUNCED at a location to be determined.
