Mrs. Elizabeth G. (McManus) Alden, 98, of Uxbridge MA died Wednesday (May 9, 2018) at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. John D. Alden, who died in 1994.

Mrs. Alden was born in North Weymouth MA, the daughter of the late Charles A. and the late Margarida M. (DeAvellar) McManus. She graduated from Medford High School and attended Salem College.

Mrs. Alden was a member of the Milford Regional Hospital Auxiliary and a past-member of the Milford RotaryAnns. She volunteered for many years in the Milford Hospital gift & coffee shop. She loved playing bridge, reading and doing crossword & jigsaw puzzles.

She is survived by 5 Sons: John D. Alden Jr. and Edward F. Alden of Uxbridge MA; Stephen R. Alden and his wife Marietta of Prospect CT; Peter G. Alden and his wife Bonnie of Whitinsville MA and Christopher C. Alden and his wife Tracey of Hopedale MA; 3 Daughters: Elizabeth A., and her husband Joseph Mazzarelli of Grafton MA; Martha A., and her husband Marc LeRoy of Uxbridge MA and Susan M. Alden  of Milford MA;                  10 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.

She was pre-deceased by by her sisters: Margarita Bucci, Anna Larson and Louise Polcsa; a brother: Charles A. McManus Jr. who died in WW II; and a Daughter-in-law: Delle Alden.

Her funeral will be held Monday (May 14th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM in St. Mary's Church,     77  Mendon Street (Rte 16), Uxbridge MA. Burial will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery. A visiting hour will be held Monday morning (May 14th) from 8:30am to 9:30am, prior to her Funeral Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
