The Mason family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Elizabeth "Libby" Helen (Yorgovan) Mason,79, of Milford, MA. She was the beloved daughter of Raymond Yorgovan and Elizabeth Milanov Yorgovan White.

She leaves her devoted husband of fifty-seven years, Michael Mason of Milford. She also leaves her oldest daughter, Michele Mason Champagne, her husband Dale Champagne, of Milford, and her youngest daughter, Kate Mason, and her husband Jeffrey Kustes, of Boston. She additionally leaves her much-beloved granddaughters, Olivia Champagne and Emily Champagne, both of Boston.

Libby will be dearly missed by her brother John Yorgovan, his partner Deborah Asbrock, sister-in-law Louise Rose, her late brother-in-law Philip Rose, brother-in-law Henry Mason and wife Carmen, and brother-in-law Brian Mason and wife Susan. She will be remembered fondly by her many cherished nieces and nephews. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories for her long-time friends.

Libby was a Cincinnati girl through and through; there, she enjoyed a carefree and idyllic upbringing. She combined a bright mind with an inquisitive nature and a wonderful wit. She attended St. Teresa of Avila School and Seton High School. She earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education from The College of Mount St. Joseph. A natural educator at heart, she will be fondly remembered by her grade school students for her gentleness and unwavering support. Later in life, Libby earned a degree in Economics, and would work for the United States Air Force as a Budget Analyst until her professional retirement.

She relished her life as a proper Air Force officer's wife—characterized by unpredictable deployments, frequent relocations, months of solo parenting, and the emotional toll of constantly rebuilding support systems—and made it look effortless. Libby loved to travel, and had particularly fond memories of London, Paris, Salzburg, and Florence. She also lived with her young family in Worfelden, Germany for several years, where she was pleased to enjoy the town's convenient access to nearby European cities.

Libby was the epitome of grace, always impeccably groomed from head to toe. She was a true lady, and will be so missed by many.

The Mason family would like to thank MetroWest hospice care nurses, who allowed Libby to pass peacefully in her beautiful home, surrounded by family, with superior care, and on her own terms. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Libby's name to the American Heart Association.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 7th, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford, MA, with an 11a.m. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main Street, Milford, MA. A private interment will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon, MA, on Monday, August 10th at 1 p.m.
