Obituary

Mrs. Gloria C. "Cara" (Dubbiosi) Bissanti, 89, of Franklin MA, died Wednesday  (November 7, 2018) at Blaire House of Milford after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of Andrew E. Bissanti, who died in 2012.

Mrs. Bissanti was born in Naples Italy, the daughter of the late navy commander Mario and the late Augusta (Del Greco) Dubbiosi. After graduating from the Lycee Francaise, she continued her studies at the British Council Institute , receiving her degree in 1952 in Naples, Italy. She was fluent in several languages and based on her classical studies, she had an excellent knowledge of Greek and Latin.

As a young woman, she came to the US in 1956, following her marriage to her late husband, who at the time was in the diplomatic corps in the foreign service. They met when they were both employed at the American Consulate General in Naples, Italy working for the Refugee Relief Program, which was a program that was started after WW II to help people from the Iron Curtain countries emigrate to America.

Mrs. Bissanti was a longtime resident of Franklin MA and for many years had assisted her late husband in the day to day operations of the family business, Bissanti Realty. She had a passion for music, the theatre, reading and the study of history and the arts in general.

Mrs. Bissanti is survived by her 3 Children: Andrew Bissanti and his wife Christina of Franklin MA, Cabiria, wife of Paul Mazzuchelli of Milford MA and Mark Bissanti of Franklin MA; 5 Grandchildren: Atty. Andrew Mazzuchelli, Matthew Mazzuchelli, Francesca Bissanti, Vanessa Bissanti and Serena Bissanti; 2 Great Grandchildren: Joseph and Isabella; also several nieces & nephews.

Mrs. Bissanti was the sister of the late Cabiria Calvo, of Rome, Italy.

Funeral Services will be held Monday (November 12th) at 10am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Franklin MA. A visiting hour will be held Monday (November 12th) from 9am to 10am, prior to her Funeral Services.
