Mr. James F. Dawson, 80, of Uxbridge MA died Thursday (August 27, 2026) at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Lois P. (DuPont) Dawson.
James was born in Framingham MA, the son of the late Frederick Dawson and the late Eunice (Blake) Dawson. He attended Framingham public schools, graduating from Framingham High School. He was also a graduate of the former Framingham State College, where he received his bachelor’s degree.
James was first employed as a young man working for a printing company located in Framingham MA. He later worked as a manager at the W. A. Wilde Printing Company located in Holliston MA. Later in life he worked part time at the Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.
James was an accomplished baseball player while in high school, and he continued that interest by participating in various soft ball leagues later in life. He was also an avid golfer.
Along with his beloved wife of 57 years, he is survived by his 3 daughters: Lori P. Konde and her husband Stephen of Worcester MA, Christine M. Dawson of Auburn MA and Melissa D. Packwood and her husband John of Louisville KY; his 5 grandchildren: Jennifer Goldberg, Jarrette Packwood, Dawson Packwood, Johnathon Konde and Mackenzie Packwood; his brother: Blake Dawson and his wife Louise of Bourne MA; also several nieces & nephews.
Relatives & friends are invited to extend their condolences to James’s family on TUESDAY (September 1st) from 5pm to 7pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. In accordance with his wishes cremation will follow and a Private Committal Service of his cremains will be held at Vernon Grove Cemetery in Milford MA at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Pulmonary Fibrosis Association, 223 W. Jackson Blvd., Suite #350, Chicago IL 60606 .
