Mr. John J. Callahan Sr., 90, of Milford MA died Wednesday (July 29, 2026) at Lydia Taft House in Uxbridge MA after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Adele F. (Kane) Callahan.

John was born in Milford MA, the son of the late Arthur C. Callahan Sr. and the late Katherine (Gleason) Callahan. He was a graduate of the former St. Mary's High School, Class of 1953.

John had been employed from 1968 to 1975 for the General Motors Corporation working in their parts division located in Westwood MA. Following that he was employed at the former Foster Forbes Glass Factory located in Milford MA from 1975 to 2001.

John was a lifelong resident of Milford MA and a longtime communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Milford MA. He was also a proud member of the Massachusetts Army National Guard. He enjoyed working on puzzles; was an avid gardener and also loved to travel.

Along with his beloved wife of 71 years, he is survived by his 4 children: Lorraine Barbrow and her husband Raymond of Dora MO, Joan Sullivan of Framingham MA, John Callahan Jr. and his wife Joan of Franklin MA and Marion Callahan Ewick and her husband Peter Ewick of Milford MA; 15 grandchildren; 17 Great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; also several nieces & nephews.

John was pre-deceased by his daughter Debbie Callahan Hollowell; his daughter-in-law: Sandra Callahan; his son-in-law: Ted Sullivan; his great grandson Brendan Reyes and his brother Paul Callahan.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on SATURDAY (August 15th) at 10:30AM in the LOWER CHURCH of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA.
