Mrs. Josephine M. (Parente) Tomassini, 99, died   early Sunday  morning (September 8, 2019) at Beaumont Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Northbridge MA after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred Tomassini Sr., who died in 2014.

Mrs. Tomassini was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late Raffaele and the late Josephine (Niro) Parente. She was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1938. She also attended the former South Middlesex Secretarial School.

Mrs. Tomassini had been a longtime resident of Hopedale MA and had been employed at the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles for fifteen years, retiring in 1985. She had been active in the Hopedale Community House activities; a member of the Walking Club. She was also a member of the Friends of the Elders and the Friends of the Hopedale Library.

Mrs. Tomassini is survived by her daughter: Diane M., wife of Fred Sears of Hopedale MA; her son: Alfred Tomassini Jr. of Bellingham MA; her granddaughter: Kym Benoist NH; her great grandson: Alex Jones of Milford  MA; her great granddaughter: Sophia Benoist of NH; her brother: Ralph Parente of Northboro MA; her sister: Barbara Hart-Puyallup of Washngton state; also her nieces & nephews.

Mrs. Tomassini was the grandmother of the late Sheril (Sears) Jones and the sister of the late Antonette Lioce, the late Mary Birmingham, the late Louise Parente, the late Louis P. Parente and the late Anthony Parente.

Her funeral will be held   Monday  (September 16th ) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart Church, 187 Hopedale Street, Hopedale MA. Burial will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery in Hopedale MA. Visiting hours will be Sunday (September 15th ) from     2pm  to  4pm.
